External adapters are a thing of the past. The Framework Expansion Card system lets you choose exactly the ports you want and where you want them. With four bays, you can select from USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, DisplayPort, MicroSD, Ethernet, Audio, ultra fast storage, and more.

Ultra high speed storage, available in two capacities. With a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface supporting 1000 MB/s read rates and 375 MB/s and 1000 MB/s write rates for 250GB and 1TB respectively. Fast enough to run apps or even boot an operating system from. Small enough to pop out and take with you.
Color-customizable bezel
Electronics products don't need to be one size fits all. The magnet-attach bezel is easy to swap and comes in a range of colors.
Keyboard
The Framework Laptop has a great feeling keyboard with a toggleable backlight. While most compact notebooks have shrunk to between 0.8mm and 1.2mm travel, we’ve chosen a better balance of 1.5mm to deliver excellent feel while keeping the system highly portable. Available in 12 languages and clear and blank options. Plus, more coming soon!

The 3:2 aspect ratio display lets you fit more code and creativity on-screen at once. There are two display options available, depending on the laptop generation - the original glossy panel or the new matte version.

The Framework Laptop 13 comes in pre-built configurations with up to 32GB of memory and 1TB of NVMe storage. We use Western Digital’s SN730 and SN740 SSDs to deliver 3,400 MB/s read speeds with great power efficiency. With two SO-DIMM sockets and one M.2 2280 socket, all models are upgradeable to an insane 64GB of memory and 8TB of storage.

Privacy
Built-in hardware privacy switches give you complete control over access to the camera and microphones. Our embedded controller firmware is fully open source, and we don’t preload any extra software. You can even install a privacy focused OS on a Storage Expansion Card and take it with you.
Transparency
Every part of the Framework Laptop has a scannable QR code, giving you unprecedented access to documentation, repair guides, replacement and upgrade parts, and insight into design and manufacturing data.
Sustainability
The single best way to reduce the environmental impact of electronics is to make them last longer. You can repair and upgrade the Framework Laptop 13 to last as long as you need it to. Made with 50% post-consumer recycled (PCR) aluminum housing, 75% pre-consumer recycled aluminum (for models containing Top Cover - CNC), an average of 30% PCR plastic, and fully recyclable materials for packaging. All shipments are fully carbon-offset, and you can buy carbon capture and sequestration in the Framework Marketplace to make your laptop fully carbon neutral.
Developer Program
A core part of the Framework design philosophy is the idea that products should be deeply customizable to meet your needs, so we’ve built the Framework Laptop 13 to be modifiable in ways no other notebook can be. We’ve released documentation, CAD templates, and reference designs, all under open source licenses to make it easy for both hardware companies and individual makers to create new designs. This is all downloadable today from our GitHub repository.
