Article 1. Definitions

In our Terms of Sale, we use the following definitions:

  • Marketplace: the marketplace as available on the EU and Norwegian version of the website https://frame.work.
  • Offer: any offer of a Product displayed as such on the Marketplace.
  • Order: any order of a Product made by a consumer or customer on the Marketplace.
  • Pre-order: any order of a Product made by a consumer or customer on the Marketplace that has not yet been released or produced.
  • Product: any product as displayed for sale on the Marketplace.
Article 2. Scope

These Terms of Sale apply to any Offer, Order or Pre-Order by Framework and to any contract concluded between Framework and the consumer or customer. Before concluding the contract, these Terms of Sale will be made available to the consumer or customer. In case this is not reasonably possible, Framework shall send these Terms of Sale for free of charge to the consumer or customer as soon as possible.

Article 3. Terms
  1. We are constantly trying to improve our products which means that our Terms of Sale may need to be changed accordingly. Therefore, we reserve the right to change, modify, add or remove clauses in our Terms of Sale at any time, without affecting any Orders or Pre-Orders placed before the changes take effect.
  2. We will publish the most recent version of our Terms on our Marketplace, and these will be effective as of the date of publishing and will apply to any Order and Pre-Order placed on and after that date. In case of changes in these Terms of Sale, consumers or customers will be informed about these changes.
  3. We will not store our Terms of Sale after the conclusion of a contract.
Article 4. The Offer; the Agreement and order acceptance
  1. The prices as shown on our Marketplace can be removed or changed at any moment.
  2. Orders and Pre-Orders may be subject to order quantity limits, which will be shown during the checkout process.
  3. An agreement between Framework and the consumer or customer shall only come into effect at the moment that the consumer or customer accepts the Offer, when the specific conditions of the Offer are met and, in the case that Offer is accepted by electronic means, when Framework confirmed the receipt of the acceptance of the Offer by electronic means to the consumer or customer.
  4. Framework reserves the right to cancel any Order or Pre-Order where any obvious and unmistakable errors in pricing occur.
  5. Framework reserves the right to decline, reject, limit, or adjust your Order or Pre-Order at any time for legitimate and objective reasons. Such reasons include, but are not limited to: non-availability of a Product, invalid or unsupported shipment addresses, suspected fraudulent activity, or payment processing issues.
  6. When placing an Order or Pre-Order for a Product, you will be required to provide certain information, such as your address and other billing information. It is your responsibility that such information is correct and up to date.
  7. Notwithstanding any other provision, the risk of loss or damage to the Product remains with Framework until you, or a third party designated by you (other than the carrier), have acquired physical possession of the Product.
  8. The Product will be delivered to you in accordance with the delivery option chosen by you in the ordering process. The shipping cost is detailed in the Order process. The dispatch and delivery date will be stated in the order process.
  9. If Framework does not deliver the Product by the indicated date or within thirty (30) days of order acceptance, you may request delivery within an additional reasonable period. If Framework fails to deliver within this additional period, you are entitled to cancel your Order and receive a full refund within 14 days.
  10. If Framework fails to deliver the Products on the indicated date, you are entitled to the cancellation and reimbursement rights described above. You may cancel your Order immediately and without providing an additional deadline if: (i) Framework expressly refuses to deliver, or (ii) delivery within a specific, essential deadline was a condition of your acceptance of the Offer and was communicated to Framework at the time of purchase. Reimbursement of all payments, including standard delivery fees, will occur within 14 days of cancellation.
Article 5. Order Cancellation

Prior to Order shipment, you may request cancellation of the Order by contacting Framework Support at support@frame.work. Framework will send a confirmation email to the email you provided and will inform you if the cancellation was successful which is at full discretion of Framework. If the cancellation is confirmed by Framework, you are entitled to a full refund of the purchase price if applicable. Framework strives to process refunds within a reasonable amount of time. If the Order has become subject to shipment, the Order cannot be cancelled, and the regular return procedure is applicable.

Article 6. Pre-Orders
  1. Each Pre-Order you submit for a Product, acts as a deposit for a future purchase of the Product. You will be charged a Pre-order deposit, plus any applicable taxes, at the time of placing the Pre-order for the Product. The remainder of the specified purchase price, plus any applicable taxes, duties, shipping and other costs, will be charged before the Product is released for shipment.
  2. We will attempt to charge the remainder of the purchase price and other costs to your payment method on file when your Product is ready to ship/to be delivered. If we are unable to process the payment, we will attempt to contact you via your contact information. If you do not complete your Order by updating your payment method and paying the full remainder due within 30 days, Framework may, at its sole discretion, provide you a full refund of the deposit, or continue to attempt to contact you via your contact information. Framework will try to contact you to provide a refund after that 30-day period, but if Framework does not receive a response from you within 90 days of our initial request to complete your Order, or if Framework is not able to process your refund after that 30-day period (for example, due to a cancelled credit card), then Framework will treat the amount that you paid as unclaimed and you will be responsible for requesting a refund.
  3. If a delay arises and the delivery date for a Pre-Order is not met, we will provide you with updates via your contact information with respect to the delivery schedule.
  4. You may cancel your Pre-Order at any time for any or no reason prior to our notice to you that your Product is ready for delivery by contacting support@frame.work. If you do so prior to completing the Product purchase by making the second payment, Framework will refund your Pre-Order deposit without interest rate. Once you complete the Product purchase by making the second payment, Framework’s standard Order Cancellation, Return, and Limited Warranty Policies will apply.
Article 7. Geographic Availability
  1. Products will only be shipped to supported shipping regions. Available Products may vary depending on your region. During checkout, your shipping address will be validated to determine if it is in a supported shipping region for the Product. If the final shipping address is outside of these regions, Framework reserves the right to reject the Order.
  2. Please note that not all subregions of a country or region are supported. In France, Framework ships Products in mainland France only (including Corsica), but not in overseas territories.
Article 8. WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)
  1. The "crossed out wheelie bin" symbol on electrical and electronic equipment and batteries indicates that they should not be treated as normal household waste. For batteries, this symbol may be accompanied by chemical symbols (Pb, Cd, or Hg) if they exceed legal limits.
  2. The WEEE and Battery Regulations aim to minimize the amount of waste sent to landfills. By keeping this waste separate, hazardous substances can be safely removed and materials recycled.
  3. In accordance with 2026 standards, our batteries include a QR code providing access to a digital record of the battery’s composition and sustainability data.
  4. Re-using or repairing your Product should always be preferred over throwing it out.
  5. We provide a free 1-for-1 take-back service for any waste electronic product or battery when you purchase an equivalent item from us. To arrange this, contact us prior to delivery. Specifically for Norway, Framework complies with all producer obligations via an approved collective compliance scheme and our appointed Authorized Representative. You may also dispose of waste electronics and batteries free of charge at any municipal collection point or any electronics retailer in Norway.
Article 9. Conformity guarantee
  1. Framework is responsible for delivering a Product that complies with the contract and meets objective market standards for durability and functionality.
  2. Framework is liable for any non-conformity that appears within a minimum 2-year period after delivery (the "Legal Guarantee").
  3. Right to Repair Extension: In accordance with EU Directive 2024/1799, if you choose repair as a remedy for a defect, the Legal Guarantee period for that Product shall be extended by twelve (12) months from the date the repaired Product is delivered to you.
  4. In the case of a defect within the guarantee period, you are entitled to request that Framework repairs or replaces the Product to bring it into conformity. You must make the Product available to Framework; Framework will take the Product back at its expense to assess the defect. Repair or replacement is carried out free of charge and within a reasonable period.
  5. When repair or replacement is not possible, and the defect is not caused by you, you may choose to receive a refund.
  6. Framework may elect not to proceed with your preferred remedy (repair vs. replacement) if that choice is impossible or imposes disproportionate costs compared to the alternative.
  7. If Framework replaces your Product, you benefit from a new 2-year conformity guarantee period starting from the date the replacement is delivered.
  8. The guarantee period is suspended during the time the Product is with Framework for repair or replacement, or if both parties explicitly agree to settle a defect issue.
  9. For the first 2 years following delivery, you are not required to prove the existence of the default; it is presumed to have existed at the time of delivery. You can find more information about your EU-wide rights on the official Your Europe portal.

Specific Provisions for Norway

  • Claim Period: Pursuant to the Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act, the period for notifying Framework of a non-conformity for the Product (specifically the laptop chassis, motherboard, and screen) is 5 years from delivery. For batteries, the period is 2 years.
  • Repair Attempts: Framework is entitled to a maximum of two (2) attempts to repair the same defect. If the defect persists after two attempts, you are entitled to a replacement, price reduction, or a full refund.

Specific Provisions for Spain and Sweden

  • Spain & Sweden: For Products delivered in Spain or Sweden, the legal guarantee period is 3 years for new goods.
Article 10. Guarantee for Latent Defects (Specific to France)
  1. [For French Consumers Only]: You may also exercise the latent defect guarantee (garantie des vices cachés) pursuant to Article 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code. Framework is liable for latent defects of the item sold that render it unfit for its intended use, or which so diminish this use that you would not have purchased it, or would only have paid a lower price, if you had been aware of the defect.
  2. In such a case, you can choose between the cancellation of the sale (returning the product for a full refund) or keeping the product and claiming a reduction of the price.
  3. The action resulting from latent defects must be filed within two (2) years of the discovery of the defect.
  4. [For Other Consumers]: For consumers in Norway and other EU member states, your rights regarding hidden or latent defects are fully covered by the Conformity Guarantee described in Article 9. Nothing in these Terms will limit or exclude your statutory rights under your local mandatory consumer laws.
Article 11. Right to return
  1. You have the right to return a Product that is purchased on the Marketplace within 30 days from the date of receipt of the Product without giving any reason or justification. Framework may ask the consumer about the reason for return, but you are not required to provide the reason(s). You are responsible for the return delivery.
  2. You are entitled to handle and inspect the Product to the extent necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, and functioning, just as you would in a physical store. If the Product has been used beyond this extent or damaged, Framework reserves the right to deduct a proportionate amount from your refund for the diminished value of the Product.
  3. Framework shall refund the full purchase price plus standard initial delivery costs within fourteen (14) days of being informed of your decision to withdraw. Framework may withhold the refund until we have received the Products back or you have supplied evidence of having sent them back.
  4. To exercise your right to return, you may use the "Withdraw from Contract" function on our website, fill out the return form attached to these Terms, or contact support@frame.work.
  5. For this refund, we will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction unless explicitly agreed otherwise with you; in no case will you be charged for this refund.
  6. We will process the refund within a reasonable period after receipt of the returned Product.
  7. You must return or hand over the Products to us without undue delay and in any case no later than within 30 days from the day on which you informed us of the withdrawal from a contract. The deadline is met if you send the Product(s) before the expiry of the period of 30 days.
  8. You are responsible for any damage to the Product, including loss in value, as a result of handling of the Products by you that is not strictly necessary for checking the condition, characteristics, properties and functioning of the Product(s).
  9. These Terms still apply after you return the Product.
  10. Some items are not eligible for return or refund and will be noted as such at the time of Order or Pre-Order; unless otherwise provided by a particular product offer, all purchases of these ineligible products are final and non-refundable, and you will not have a right to return these purchases.
  11. For complete details on how to return eligible products, consult our Framework knowledgebase.
  12. For Norwegian consumers: Your 30-day return right includes and extends the statutory 14-day Right of Withdrawal (Angrerett). During the first 14 days following delivery, you may exercise your right of withdrawal by using the standardized form or our online withdrawal function.
Article 12. Use of the Product and Restrictions
  1. Framework sells and delivers Product(s) to non-professionals and consumers for personal use and to customers for business use. Framework is not responsible for any usage of the Product by you in a way that violates the law.
  2. Any software incorporated into or provided for use in a Product is licensed solely for use in that Product. For any such software licensed to you under these Terms, such license is non-exclusive, non-sublicensable and does not include the right to (and the consumer or customer will not) incorporate or use in any other works, or copy any portion of such software, or to use the software or product for the benefit of any third party. For any other such software licensed to you (including without limitation third-party components (as defined below)), please check the license associated with each such software item for the applicable specific terms and conditions.
Article 13. Third-Party Software and Other Components
  1. The consumer or customer acknowledges that the Product may contain or interact with software owned or supplied by third parties (“Third-Party Components”).
  2. Non-Essential Components: Where a Third-Party Component is not integrated with or necessary for the Product to perform its basic functions (e.g., optional third-party apps), Framework is not responsible for its operation. Any use of such components is governed solely by the terms provided by that third party.
  3. Essential Components: Where a Third-Party Component is necessary for the Product to work and perform its functions (e.g., firmware, BIOS, or essential drivers), Framework is liable for its conformity and proper functioning under the Conformity Guarantee (Article 9) for all EU and Norwegian consumers.
  4. Security Updates: For any Third-Party Component necessary for the Product's conformity, Framework ensures that you will be notified of and supplied with necessary security updates for a period you may reasonably expect.
Article 14. Digital Elements and Updates
  1. Supply of Updates: For consumers in the European Union and Norway, Framework commits to providing the necessary software and security updates to keep the Product in conformity. These updates will be provided for a period that you may reasonably expect, taking into account the type and purpose of the Product and its digital elements.
  2. Modification of Digital Elements: Framework may modify the digital elements (such as firmware or BIOS) to improve the Product or for other valid reasons. A valid reason includes:
  3. Adapting to a new technical environment or operational requirements;
  4. Addressing intellectual property infringements or third-party compliance;
  5. Enhancing the safety and security of users or third parties;
  6. Legal, regulatory, or security-related reasons.
  7. Notice of Changes: If a modification negatively impacts your access to or use of the digital elements in a more than minor way, Framework will inform you in advance on a durable medium (such as email) about the characteristics of the change, the timing, and your right to terminate the contract or keep the Product without the modification (if applicable).
Article 15. Limited Warranty and Warranty Disclaimer

Framework branded Products are covered by the Framework Limited Warranty (“Warranty”): https://frame.work/warranty.

Article 16. Data protection

Consumer or customer acknowledges that he read and understands Framework’s privacy policy which can be found at https://frame.work.

Article 17. Proprietary rights

Consumer or customer shall not use Framework’s name, logo, trade marks, trade names, design, look and feel or other proprietary rights in any of his professional communications without the prior written permission of Framework.

Article 18. Limitation of Liability
  1. These terms set out the full extent of Framework’s obligations and liabilities in respect of the supply of the Products and the performance of any Services.
  2. The applicable warranties and conditions and terms are expressly stated in these Terms of Sale.
  3. The maximum possible liability is limited to the amount of the sum paid for the Product or Service. In no event, Framework is liable for consequential, incidental or indirect damages (including lost profits or revenue, loss of data, interruption in use, unavailability of data or cost of the procurement of substitute goods) or for punitive or exemplary damages.
  4. We are not liable for business losses. If you use the Products for any commercial or business purpose we will have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
Article 19. Miscellaneous
  1. A contract is between you and Framework. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of these Terms of Sale except, for French and Norwegian consumers, another person to whom the Product has been transferred, who may exercise the Conformity guarantee rights.
  2. If any court or relevant authority decides that any part of these Terms is unlawful or void, the remaining parts will remain in full force and effect. If necessary, the invalid part will be replaced by a provision that most closely matches the original intent while being legally valid.
  3. If Framework delays in enforcing its rights (such as chasing a missed payment), this does not mean Framework has waived those rights. Framework can still take steps against you at a later date.
  4. If you are a French consumer, these terms are governed by French law and you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in the French courts.
  5. For all other consumers in the EU or Norway, these terms are governed by Dutch law. However, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded to you by provisions that cannot be derogated from by agreement under the laws of your country of residence. You may bring legal proceedings in the courts of your place of residence or in the Dutch courts.

Alternative Dispute Resolution for EU consumers or customers

The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR), available at https://ec.europa.eu/odr. Framework is not currently committed to using an alternative dispute resolution entity to resolve disputes with consumers, but we will review each case individually.

Alternative Dispute Resolution for Norwegian consumers or customers

For Norwegian consumers: If a dispute cannot be settled directly with Framework, you may submit the case to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) for mediation. This process is free of charge and aims to reach an amicable solution.
